This Privacy Policy describes how The Metric ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by Jeffrey A. Ver as a sole proprietorship, collects, uses, and protects information in connection with your use of The Metric application available at https://themetric.io (the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
When you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and any profile details you choose to provide. This information is used to authenticate your account and personalize your experience.
The Service is designed to help you run your business with a structured leadership operating system. In the course of normal use you may input and store:
All such data is stored in your account and is not shared with other users or third parties.
If you choose to connect your QuickBooks Online account, we access the following financial data from Intuit's QuickBooks API on your behalf:
This data is fetched only when you initiate a sync and is written directly to Metrics within the Service. We store the OAuth access token and refresh token necessary to make authorized API calls on your behalf. These tokens are stored securely in our database and are used solely to retrieve the reports listed above.
We do not sell, share, license, or disclose your QuickBooks financial data to any third party. You can disconnect your QuickBooks account at any time from the Workspace Settings page, which immediately revokes our access and deletes your stored tokens.
Our use of data obtained via the QuickBooks API complies with Intuit's developer platform policies.
If you connect your Google Calendar, we access your calendar events solely to display upcoming meetings within the Service. We do not store your calendar data beyond what is necessary to surface it in the app.
If you connect a Slack workspace, we use the Slack API to send meeting summaries and notifications to channels you designate. We do not read or store Slack message history.
If you connect your Salesforce account, we access sales and pipeline data via the Salesforce API solely to write summarized metrics (such as pipeline value and closed revenue) to your scorecard. We store the OAuth tokens necessary to make authorized API calls on your behalf, and you can disconnect the integration at any time from the Workspace Settings page, which revokes our access and deletes your stored tokens.
If you connect a GitHub account, we access repository activity via the GitHub API solely to surface engineering metrics within the Service. We store the OAuth tokens necessary to make authorized API calls on your behalf, and you can disconnect the integration at any time from the Workspace Settings page, which revokes our access and deletes your stored tokens.
We may collect standard server log data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This information is used to maintain and improve the Service and is not linked to your personal identity.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your data.
Your data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security (RLS) enabled. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest by the database provider. OAuth tokens for third-party integrations (QuickBooks, Google, Slack) are stored in the same secured database.
While we implement industry-standard safeguards, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Service integrates with the following third-party platforms at your election:
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party platforms.
We retain your account and business data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law.
QuickBooks OAuth tokens are deleted immediately upon disconnecting the integration from Workspace Settings or upon account deletion.
You have the right to:
